It is with
great pleasure that we announce our first concert for the
2008 season!!!!
The
NRSO Camerata will be holding a concert at the Tweed
Heads Civic Centre entitled "A BAROQUE BOUQUET"
on Sunday 24th of
February2008. This concert will be a repeat of the
beautiful Lily Ponds Concert that was held in November last
year.
Due to the
fact that many of you were not able to attend the Lily Ponds
Concert, it was decided that we would repeat this stunning
program so that those wishing to go would not miss out.
The concert
will begin at 3.00pm (NSW time) and will
conclude at approximately 5.30pm (NSW time).
For our Queensland friends the concert will
begin at 2.00pm.your time.
The
exciting program for the afternoon will include, a
Vivaldi Cello and Basoon Concerto, a Concerto Grosso by
Corelli, the Suite from Xerxes by Handel,
an Oboe Concerto by Marcello and a Sinfonietta by
Mozart to add a touch of Classicism to the program.
Also
appearing on the program will be Coloratura soprano
Liza Beamish singing two Handel Arias
including Let the Bright Seraphim from
Samson and Rejoice O Daughter of Zion
from the Messiah.
The aria
from Samson is stunning as it really is a duet between
soprano and piccolo trumpet.
As with
previous concerts at the Civic Centre, light refreshments
including tea and coffee will be available during the
interval. Wine will also be served for a modest fee.
And
remember that you don’t have to worry about the
weather!!!!!!
Bookings are essential as seating is limited and this helps
with catering!!!
