Tweed Shire Women’s Service is a community managed organisation which provides a range of services for women in the Tweed District.

The primary objective of the Service is to empower women to make their own life choices through support and referral, crisis accommodation, advocacy and education and information within a non-judgemental, safe and nurturing environment.

The further objective of the Service is to raise community awareness of issues affecting women and children with a particular emphasis on domestic violence. Women and Children’s Refuge provides safe and secure accommodation and support services to women and children who are escaping domestic violence.

We provide:
Intake Workers - are available from 9:30-4.  Drop in to the Resource Centre for assistance (no appointment needed) or Contact Us by phone on 02 6672 4188.  We can be contacted with a variety of concerns including issues ranging from domestic and family violence; accommodation; legal matters; family support; emergency relief; and issues with children etc. Intake workers provide information, support, and referral to other programs or activities within the TSWS, as well as external agencies. With the view of improving outcomes, we have access to a vast resource directory that covers the geographical regions from Southport to Lismore.

Crisis Counselling – Marg is the Crisis Support Worker at the Women's Resource Centre located at Murwillumbah.  Marg has 15 years experience working with women, children and young people in crisis services on the Gold Coast and Tweed, predominantly in the area of domestic violence.  Marg is committed to working with women in respectful ways by providing information and resources and focusing on their strengths in a safe supportive environment as they work towards taking control of their lives.  Marg is available for crisis counselling, support and information Mondays, Tuesdays and alternate Wednesdays.  Women are able to make appointments, receive support over the phone or alternatively drop in to access a worker for brief support, information and referrals.  Child minding available if pre booked, gold coin donation.  Phone 02 66724188
